Requirements & Supported Environments

Here we provide details for system requirements for PrinterLogic and supported environments.

Third-Party Vendor Policy - PrinterLogic works with third-party products listed below—so long as the vendor continues to support them. However, when they reach “end of life” (as defined by the vendor), we can no longer support them. If this occurs, we suggest you upgrade to a newer version. We define third-party software support as “mainstream support,” not any extended support options a company like Microsoft may offer.

Printerlogic Security Compliance

Visit the Vasion Trust Center.

Allow List: SaaS Services

The following must also be exempt from SSL Deep Packet Inspection (DPI).

Allow List URLs

Allow List: CRLs and OCSPs

Since Amazon rotates the PrinterLogic certificate every six months, the same issuing CA is not guaranteed to be valid for subsequent issuances. Therefore, we recommend whitelisting http://*.amazontrust.com/* and http://*.ss2.us/* to prevent disruption.

Allow List: Off-Network Printing

The options differ depending on whether you use the PrinterLogic-hosted or self-hosted external gateway.

SaaS LDAP Connection

The PrinterLogic SaaS platform is regionally hosted in AWS. Each AWS region is load balanced across multiple availability zones with disaster recovery fail-over capabilities in separate AWS regions.

When using LDAP with the PrinterLogic SaaS platform, to provide real-time username/password authentication for the Admin Console or the Control Panel Application, the source IP address listed below (according to region) must be allowed to communicate with an LDAP server through your firewall. The recommendation is to forward TCP 636 so that the LDAP traffic will be secured using TLS.

  • Android 10, 11, 12, and 13

Type 4 Drivers

PrinterLogic does not support Type 4 drivers. Type 4 drivers disable port monitoring which PrinterLogic uses. A Type 4 driver installed on a workstation can impact printing through PrinterLogic and cause jobs not to send.

Supported IPP Version

  • 2.0

Printing with a mobile device requires access through two specific TCP ports: Port 631 and Port 80.

Client OS and Hardware

This PrinterLogic Client supports the following operating systems.

x64

Windows 10/11

Windows 10/11/2016/2019/2022

macOS 11 (Big Sur)

macOS 12 (Monterey)

Ubuntu Linux (LTS) 18.04

Ubuntu Linux (LTS) 20.04

Red Hat 7

Red Hat 8

Other

Chrome OS 88+

The Admin Console interface displays a list of the supported operating systems in Tools then Settings then General, as shown here.

Client workstations must have hardware capable of running the operating system with 30MB free hard disk space for the client installation. Additional space for print drivers being installed may be required as well.

The use of ARM processors is currently not supported for Service Client machines and end-user workstations.

Supported SNMP Versions

If SNMP is enabled, PrinterLogic leverages metadata to ensure precise reporting, SNMP information retrieval, Pull Print/Secure Release Print functionality, and synchronization of identities and email addresses from local PrinterLogic users. For a comprehensive list of the collected metadata and concise descriptions of their use cases see the Metadata Collected by Printerlogic topic.
